The Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee investigating the Chikangawa plane crash that killed vice-president Saulos Chilima and eight others reconvenes today as it moves to conclude outstanding Phase One business.
In a statement, committee chairperson Walter Nyamilandu said members will meet at 2pm before reconvening on August 10 and 11 to wrap up Phase One and prepare for Phase Two of the probe.
The remaining witnesses include former National Intelligence Service director general Dokani Ngwira and former Malawi Defence Force Deputy Commander Lieutenant General John Msonthi (retired).

More than 40 witnesses, including serving and retired military officers, government officials and family members of the victims have testified.
In March, Speaker of Parliament Sameer Suleman appointed the 13-member committee to investigate the June 10 2024 military plane crash.
At the time, Suleman said the committee was expected to report to the National Assembly within 90 days. Leader of the House Jappie Mhango said the deadline was intended to ensure urgency on a matter of national importance.
The committee comprises four members from the governing Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), three from the Malawi Congress Party (MCP), three independents, and one each from the UTM Party, United Democratic Front (UDF) and People’s Party (PP).
Previous investigations concluded that the crash in Viphya Plantation was caused by bad weather and human error, ruling out foul play.
